Itinerary: (B=breakfast, L=lunch, D=dinner, N=overnight)

Day01 Beijing – Chengdu 2N in 3 star hotel

Arrival in Beijing, then connecting flight to Chengdu, pick up and transfer to hotel and then free time.

Day02 Chengdu B/L

Visit the Research Base of Panda breeding and a traditional Chengdu Tea house and the Buddhism Temple Wenshu.

Day03 Chengdu – Kangding 1N in 2 star hotel B/L/D

Kangding was formerly the capital of the Chakal Kingdom – one of the five independent kingdoms of Kham. The town prospered as the center for the tea-trade between Tibet and China. Traders would travel long distances,carrying herbal medicines from the Tibetan plateau to sell in exchange for the tea grown in the Ya’an region, which appealed to the Tibetan palate when blended with salt and butter.

Day04 Kangding – Tagong monastery – Daofu 1N in Guesthouse B/L/D

On the way visit Tagong monastery, then drive to Daofu. The Daofu(3125 metres) valley is one of most attractive parts of Kahm, the neatly constructed white flat-roofed houses with their horizontal red timbers exuding an air of quiet prosperity.

Day05: Daofu – Garze 1N in Simple Kamba hotel B/L/D

Drive to Garze (3580 metres). In the afternoon visit Garze monastery. It was originally constructed by the Qosot Mongols circa 1642. It once had a population of 1500 monks, making it the largest in Kham alongside Chamdo.

Day06: Garze – Paiyul 1N in Paiyul hotel B/L/D

Visit Baiyul monastery.

Day07: Paiyul – Derge 1N in Dege hotel B/L/D

Visit Derge printing press.

Day08: Derge – Dzongchen monastery 1N in simple Gueshouse B/L/D

Drive to Dzongchen monastery. Dzongchen is recognized as the major pilgrimage site of Buddha-attributes in East Tibet and as one of the largest monasteries of the Nyingma school n Kham.

Day09: Dzongchen – Zhenchen monastery - Shiqu 1N in Guesthouse B/L/D

Drive to Zhenchen monastery, overnight in Shiqu.

Day10: Shiqu – Yushu 2N in Guesthouse B/L/D

Drive to Yushu (3700 m).

Day11: Yushu B/L/D

Today you will visit Yushu Dondrubling monastery and Trangu monastery.

Day12: Yushu – Maduo 1N in Guesthouse B/L/D

Maduo is a high altitude town(4,300 metres) , where snow is not uncommon in summertime.

Day13: Maduo – Koko Nor Lake 1N in Tent hotel B/L/D

Day14: Koko Nor Lake – Kumbum Monastery – Xining 1N in 3 star hotel B/L/D

Day15: Xining – Tongren 1N in simple hotel B/L/D

In Tongren visit Longwu monastery.

Day16: Tongren – Xiahe 1N in 2 star Labrang hotel B/L/D

Drive to Xiahe and visit the famous Labrang monastery there.

Day17: Xiahe – Lanzhou 1N in 3 star hotel B/L/D

Drive to Lanzhou and then rest.

Day18: Flight Lanzhou – Beijing 1N in 3 star hotel B

Transfer to airport and fly to Beijing, pick up and transfer to hotel and then free time.

Day19: Transfer to airport and departure from Beijing b
